The following shall be eligible for Professional membership of the Association:
- Persons who are currently holders of a certificate in Counselling, Psychology or related disciplines up to the Diploma level, including studies in Educational Guidance and Counselling practi The certificate must be awarded by an accredited institution in Ghana or abroad and must be recognized by the Ghana Psychological Council and the Executive Body of GNACC as suitable training for guidance and counselling duties and practices.
- Persons who are currently registered or are willing to register with Ghana Psychological Council (GPC).
Within the Certificated Counsellors category, there are two (2) sub-class members, namely:
- Professional Counsellors: They are persons who currently hold at least a Master degree in Counselling, Psychology or related disciplines.
- Para-Professional Counsellors: They are persons are currently hold at least a Master degree in Counselling, Psychology or related disciplines
NB: To maintain Professional Membership members must undertake at least 15 hours of approved Continuing Professional Development in each calendar year which shall be recorded as required by Executive. In the event of a member being unable to meet the professional development requirements for maintaining their current membership, due to serious long-term illness, extended leave or other exceptional circumstances, the Executive Committee may decide to vary this requirement for that member for a set period of time or offer the member an alternative category of membership.
